PMP™ Vaginal Microbiome Test

Advancing routine microbiome analysis for women’s health. Rapid, comprehensive and quantitative profiling with subspecies resolution — without the costs, waiting times and data burden of sequencing.

Why speed matters

A rapid, quantitative solution

Speed is essential to support timely, informed action, as vaginal microbiomes can transition rapidly and repeatedly. Vaginal samples are also commonly heavily contaminated with human cells — over 95% of the total DNA can correspond to host DNA.

Unlike sequencing, PMP™ can quantify the number of detected microorganisms and the microbial load in a sample. Assays target (sub)species level and are carefully validated, highly specific and true-to-target.

Advantages of PMP™

  • Fast — ready-to-use results in 2–5 days
  • Absolute quantification — abundance and microbial load
  • Not impacted by host DNA or low microbial biomass
  • Comprehensive — more than 50 key vaginal microbes
  • High taxonomic resolution — subspecies level
  • Cost-effective, scalable, simple data output

What the test includes

The PMP™ Core Vaginal Microbiome Test targets more than 50 rationally selected bacterial and fungal vaginal species. It informs on the vaginal community state type (I–V) and identifies microbes involved in bacterial vaginosis, aerobic vaginitis and Candida infections. STI testing is available as an add-on. Combined gut and vaginal profiling is offered for oral probiotic/LBP product development, and custom assays and panels are available on request.

Who it is for

  • Women’s health practitioners & vaginal test laboratories
  • Nutrition and wellness professionals
  • Intimate hygiene product developers (claim substantiation)
  • Probiotic and LBP developers
  • Obstetrics & gynaecology researchers
  • Fertility centres

Disclaimer: This test was developed and validated by Bio-Me as a Research Use Only (RUO) vaginal microbiome profiling analysis. Results are not designed to diagnose, treat or cure any medical condition. A diagnosis needs to be confirmed via consultation with a qualified health professional.
